WF Islamic Education held a three-day training workshop for teachers of the Al Muntazir Islamic Seminary on the AQA GCSE Islamic Studies modules (Units 8 and 9).
The sessions were organised and conducted by members of the WF Islamic Education GCSE team – Al – Hajj Yasin bhai Rahim and Al – Hajj Mukhtar bhai Karim. The team have now built up considerable experience and expertise in leading such training modules.

The workshop provided the participants with an opportunity to understand for themselves, and in-turn equip the students with the knowledge and skills required to fully benefit from the subject matter.
A total of 25 teachers participated in the workshop, including teachers from other schools including Ubungo IHS, Masjid Qubah, Twayyibat Seminary, Nur Islamic and Nairobi Jaffery Academy.

Shaykh Shahnawaz Mahdavi, Director of Religious Studies at Al Muntazir schools, commented, “The GCSE Training was greatly appreciated by all the participants. The IRE teachers were unanimous in that the sessions were immensely beneficial. They are a much more confident lot now. My sincere thanks to WF Islamic Education for conducting this training, and to Africa Federation for their patronage. My special thanks go to both Yasinbhai and Mukhtarbhai who were wonderful trainers.”
